Type 26 is going to be one fine ship. Looking forward to it. Although based on the most recent RN procurement practices, the order will probably get reduced from 13 to 10 and then to 8.

Back on topic with 054A. It looks like the 6th 054A from HD shipyard has went on sea trials.

that is the model of previous design iteration. new design is different, a bit smaller and compact, sort of looking like oversized Freedom LCS class.
Looking at this newer version, that's pretty much what I'm thinking. One big, continuous superstructure.

Maybe ask the crews of the ARA Belgrano, the Falklands war put the Great back into Great Britain, everyone even the Argentinians thought Britain was finished, even the Americans did not think UK would take back the islands but they did

it's amazing how much naval warfare and technologies have changed even in the last couple decades. Imagine..just a single Type 45 would have been enough to keep the entire Argentine AF at bay and rendered every fighter they have useless. Every other asset including the Harriers would've been used to take the island back. No CAP, no A2A engagements.
Heck all the other ships could've switched off their SAMs, AAAs and radars etc and still be ok...

This keeps being repeated like some kind of mantra. I've looked at the air battles, and I seriously doubt a single Type 45 could have held the entire Argentine air force at bay. IMO it would have taken two of them. :)

What's the point of posting those old photos? It will give people the false impression that another 054A is under construction.
