052C/052D Class Destroyers

A 052D/DG (#163 Jiaozuo) docked at Casablanca, Morocco for resupply and recuperate. Not photographed is the 903A AOR (#906 Honghu) accompanying the DDG. Both ships are part of the PLAN's 46th Escort Fleet.

Do we know if they are doing some port tour ? Casablanca would make sense as a stop before crossing the Atlantic.

My guess atm is they are doing the tour down the west coast of Africa again.

The photographer of this photo was affectionally known as 巡海大舅 in the PLA watching community (who worked in a China Maritime Surveillance unit). Sadly, he passed away in a helicopter crash in June 2016.

Updates on the flotilla.

Both warships have entered the Baltic Sea after passing underneath the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark.

Destined to SPB for Russian Navy Day, I guess

DDG 163 arrives in Saint Petersburg for this year's Navy Day review. Interestingly, temporary drone jammers have been installed on the ship (3rd image).
