Using the Big-Bird Radar air search radar of the S300 series?

Unlikely - the 052c's and 052d's use indigenous Chinese radars which are Active Phased Array radars unlike the 64N6E2 Big Bird Passive Phased array.

All-in-all I believe that the Chinese already make as good if not better radars than the Russians.

Jiangnan delivered 844 in mid-August. Future units should come from Wuhan.

Looking really sweet. I want to see 52D in a similar shot.

I think the contrast was toned down as she looks a bit darker which IMO make her look better than being white-skinned.

I do love that shot with 170 and the mighty tico. It really illustrates how both have a near identical beam.

I'd love to see a similar pic of 055 and zumwalt when both eventually hit the water.

Yes they do. In fact the Lanzhou Class is actually slightly wider in the beam. However, the Tico is 60 feet longer, and has a draft 13 feet deeper...which accounts for the significant difference in displacement.

I think a comparison between the Type 52D and the Burke IIA would be good, and then the Type 055 (when whatever it is comes out) compared to the Burke III.

Hopefully in future RIMPACs there will be less restriction on PLAN's involvement. If so we'll definitely see side by side comparisons. It would be a good day to see 052Ds, 055s, Burkes and Zumwalts exercising together or dock together at Pearl. Once can only hope I guess.
