I really would like to see some updated pictures of the Type 52D. How far along are they on the 1st? How far along is the 2nd? Is the third out of the hall yet?

It's been a while since we have seen new pictures of them.

D3 should be launched soon in a few months and D4 should be done by years end, that's 2 Type 052D in a year which was same for last year which would make 4 DDG for commissioning phase

64 VLS system a very good platform it is, add to that the 6 Type 052C units that makes 10 very capable units indeed, off course it will not stop there

A million dollar question would be whether the 64 VLS can be quad-packed ?

It can be. The MIL STD for the VLS says each cell can be loaded with 1-4 missiles.

DK-10 (surface launched PL-12 with strakes and a booster -- basically an active homing ESSM) looks like a good candidate for it.

Nobody knows 100%. But I would be very surprised if 052D is unable to do that ?

I assume you mean via VLS because the 052c and many other PLAN ships can already launch cruise missiles. I think it should have the ability to otherwise would be disappointing.

Yeah if it's a universal VLS and it doesn't take a LACM would be a serious drawback, so in the balance of probablitys I would say that it is a likely installation

The fact that PLAN standardise the VLS of Type052D similar to MK41 that is capable of launching multiple type of ammunition. The answer shall be yes but it may not be available too quickly after the first Type052D is commissioned. It may take another few years before we see CJ-10 launch from the VLS of Type052D.
