052/052B Class Destroyers

The next few months will be interesting to watch the PLAN. Between may and august we will see the commissioning of 1 Type 052C, 2 Type 054A's and 4 or 5 Type 056's and that in a time span of just 4 months. If we are lucky we may get another Type 052C commissioned in to the PLAN in december or else it would be in january of next year.

Next step will be equipping the North Sea fleet with this advance destroyer and I hope it can be done soon because the carrier needs better air defense protection.

how is it going to be done by April if its number hasn't been painted yet? It will join service when it's ready to join service.

btw, that should be 548 and 549 in the pictures.

Those pics only show part of the eventual fleet, 1 DDG flotilla and 2 FFG flotilla account to 4 Type 052C and 8 Type 054A, having them all lined up would be a sight to see!

Wow, I didn't know painting pennant number can take few weeks or a month? Or maybe you can enlighten me?
We have seen this 052C doing trial for some time. And from the appearance, it looks no different from a commission 052C destroyer. I don't think it's too far hope to expect it to commission in April.

Look at 150, it went back to get painted in December and then we thought it was commissioned. It took another month for it to be commissioned. And that's a fast case. Or maybe you can name a major ship recently that got commissioned right after number got painted.

The entire DDG flotilla for ESF in the making, we have seen 150

The three Type 052C sitting there will be 151, 152 and 153

The two Type 052D will be most likely going to NSF starting 116, 117, 118 and 119

Which means the two Type 052D sitting there will be the first escorts for the Liaoning, meaning for the first time ever NSF wil be getting vessels more advanced than its sister fleets

But there's more than meets the eye, if serial production is under way we should soon see 2 Type 052D emerge from the shelters and 2 more will be at certain stages in construction and orders for materials in for 2 more will be in so in the pipeline I see 6 more DDG

116 is a type 051C vessel by the name of Shijiazhuang?

Typo obviously meant 117-120 For NSF
