re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer
while i dont believe we can be sure those modules lying around are for a military ship, let alone 052D, if we DO assume they are for a new destroyer - we can speculate the following: holes in side walls at the stern are different from ones on 052c. In the deck line, where a helicopter hangar should begin, there is a cut out on the side. Its size and position could point to a place where lifeboats could go. If true, it could suggest a centrally positioned helicopter hangar, though at the same time, i dont believe more than one helicopter would fit, even if we have a brand new hull 20 meters wide.
But the most curious thing is the hole on the side, also blurred. I can't think of any combat ship of destroyer class with a side door that large. It could very well mean the whole ship is not a combat ship, or it could point out that the whole stern section is an empty, (modular?) area, not unlike ones in LCS ships, where it could serve for various purposes, including having a large rear side ramp. Again, though, why put something like that on a destroyer sized ship?
