its a square one, and since it is modular it doesn't have to be fixed number. and it is deeper. then the ones on 054A.

Popeye fused all the "052" ship classes into one thread a while ago... not technically the best choice, but we don't need separate threads for 052, 052B, 052C and soon 052D.

I got the impression that Vini got confused with the test ship as one of the variant of the Type 052s.
Regarding the additional VLS, is the 052D going to use the same 052 hull? If so, something has to make way for the new VLS, possibly the YJ-xx SSM launchers.

Like...the billionaires only think they control "us". There are over 160 million Americans like me who are well armed with over 350 million first rate firearms and estimated at over 3 billion rounds of ammo in our hands. They do not like it and constantly try and change it...but they know not to push too hard. So they resort to slow boiling the frog instead...but even then they over reach.
This November (like 2010) will prove me right.
See? We could avoid all of that if we just did not raise the political posts on a defense and military technology forum in the first place.

For some one who lives in Europe i just can't get my head around this obsession that Americans have with owning guns. Can some one explain.
Now back to the type 052C. Does anyone know when the two Type 052C, 150 Changchun and 151 Zhengzhou are going to be commissioned ? It's already a couple of months ago when they said that these ships where close to being commissioned.

if we have new AESAs being tested then it could be likely that the new Type 052D is on the cards, this could again reinforce that the current production is going to be of 8 x Type 052Cs and follow on of another 8 x Type 052Ds

Do we have any higher res pictures of that area? We can clearly see the raised platform, but there is not enough detail to make out what the crane is hoisting to be able to say with any confidence that it is a new VLS.
The new AESA looks very interesting, especially the changes made to the surrounding superstructure that No_name's photo set clearly illustrates.
The surrounding superstructure seems to have been significantly beefed up and also the radar itself seems much thicker. Obviously not the array, but the back-end behind it as can be seen by the high-lighted small circle.
Just on the face of it, it looks like the weight of the radar was increased a fair bit. Although it's interesting that they still kept the little windshield wiper on the bottom.
What does that thing do again?

all they need to do is write a check. it's not the thomas jefferson days anymore. not since the rise of industrial revolution and robber baron days.
the gun issue (or the specter of a gun ban) is nothing but a manufactured wedge issue between the urban and rural middle class.
they don't fear guns, they fear social mobility.
2010 was a perfect illustration of that tactic. koch brothers financed most of the tea-parties and guess what, they want the political power to do things that you might not agree with (gut the past 60 years of social contract of america as enacted by FDR) but they wanted your "vote".
In 2010 I saw a sign by a tea-partier that said: "fed government! hands off my medicare!".
one of most absurd things I have seen in years (and I have seen alot of absurd things). this shows the true extent of the "brainwashing" by the elite. they watnt to keep us (little people) stupid, ill-educated, gullible, and constantly fight with eachother on meaningless wedge issues. so that's why they are gutting public schools and other paths of upward social mobility.
