Hello myacupbaby, which Chinese fourm you regularly "stationed"?

As for the 万岁 wan sui topic, let's just drop it. It can be debated at the history section.

China has planned a cruiser called Type 058 entry around 2020, this is different from Type 052D

I think China currently have a regulation / doctorine difficulty to field anything in "cruiser" class ship, and since modern DDGs can function as a cruiser, there is no need to start with either.

When do members here expect to see evidence of an 052D Destroyer being built in Chinese shipyards?

Not until the assembly hall is freed up, which means later this year or early next year at the earliest. If there are significant changes to the hull there will be a longer pause in between productions.

Of Course. This Is Real!
That is a very nice pic. That's the Canadian Halifax Class Firgate, Toronto, FFH-333, escorting DDG 168.

Displacement (Full): 5000 tons
Armament:
- 1 × 57 mm Bofors Mk2 gun
- 16 × ESSM SAM
- 8 × RGM-84 Harpoon SSM
- 1 × 20 mm Phalanx CIWS
- 24 × Mk 46 torpedoes
- 6 × .50 Caliber machine guns
Aircraft: 1 x CH-124 Sea King

Actually, I think she is pretty trim, low to the water, and a good design. Commissioned in 1993, so she's lamost 20 years old.

Just read the news this morning that the 052C DDG 171 Haikou & 054A FFG 571 Yuncheng are going to make a stopover at Hong Kong between 30/4 to 4/5. There will be open house but details are pending on later release.

If I'm not mistaken, this is going to be the first time ever that a 052C DDG shown open to public...

EDIT: Yay, just found the HKSAR gov't press release, in English too...

Chinese warships to visit
April 19, 2012
A destroyer and frigate from naval escort taskforce 171 of the Chinese Navy will make a port call in Hong Kong from April 30 to May 4.

The warships will be open to the public, as part of celebrations for the 15th anniversary of the Special Administrative Region.

The taskforce left Zhanjiang in November to protect shipping from Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden until March 20. It successfully completed 40 escort missions for 240 Chinese and foreign ships, including 34 from Hong Kong.

The Haikou and the Yuncheng will berth at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks. The People's Liberation Army in Hong Kong will announce ticketing arrangements later.

Considering how plain the models are, this is to get around the censorship issue, but...not enough detail can be gleaned from the ships.

Anyway, by the end of this month there'll be more unprecedented detail pics of 052C class DDG 171. Since tickets only issued to those who held valid HK ID cards, one more thing for mainlanders to envy HK people about...?

They will only shown them to bridge And galley plus some not so important area. Nothing extraordinary things will be known to them.
