re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

I think there's 3 new 052Cs, and 2 new DDG hulls inside?

1 052C

2 052C , and able to see the mast of the previous first one on the right

2 new ones?

But i the last picture the two hulls don't look the same... so I'm not sure what's up with that.

Well, we know there were two 052Cs initially built. Then last year they launched another and began trials on it, and then launched another, with a third coming along nicely.

I believe we see three outside now...my question is whether or not those three are all the new constructs...or is the first one that was going through trials not included in those three?

If the two in the enclosures are 052C's (or Ds), then that would make at least five new constructs + the two old ones which would be seven altogether.

if the 1st new one is not included in those three, and since I see tarps on the guns of the most complete one it is possible that it is not there, then this would mean a total of six new constructs plus the two originals which would equal eight.

I tend to think that the one on the left where you see three may be the one that has already been on trials which means seven if the two inside are 052Cs (or Ds) and their bows look like they are. But there could be a total of eight and this is simply amazing either way.

I'd say now at least seven Type 052Cs will be done by the end of this year.

re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

Yes the 052C already completed/under trials isn't included in this batch of photos -- including the first 052C from the second production run with the first pair of 052C from the mid 2000s, we have three 052Cs "out at sea"/"out from shipyard".

There are three definitive 052Cs from the shipyard parked outside in various stages of completion. The variable is the two hulls inside the hangar. At first I thought they were different hulls, but if you check their anchor holes you can see they are identical, and the seemingly different shapes are from a slight disprecancy in height, which could be attributed to being in slightly different stages of construction.
The anchor shapes of the two hulls also seem to match known 052C's anchor shapes... but that doesn't necessarily mean they are 052Cs, as the 052B has an identical anchor holes too.

TL;DR -- I think we can expect a total of 6 052Cs (2 from initiall mid 2000 batch, 4 from this new batch) to be "out of shipyard" by the end of 2012, whether delivered to PLAN, under trial etc. We will also garner more info on whether those two mystery hulls are 052D or just more 052Cs. Either way it is 5 DDGs under various stages of construction/fitting out simultaneously at one shipyard and that seems quite impressive.

re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

if those twose 2 are the long awaited type 052D then it will be PLAN '1/11' :)
but frankly we are not expecting another batch of DDG before 2013 like Franco-Russe has said.
If it there are really DDG then i think could be the last ships of the 052 class (may be with HHQ-16 VLS??)

re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

... Hmm on huitong's site he says the second batch of 052Cs will be eight ships...

Tphuang in his newest blog post said one of the 052Cs (the white, painted one) is one of the 052Cs already been on trial, and that one of the hulls inside the hangar could turn out to be a D as the 7th hull could possibly be it?

Wait and see I suppose... though I thought the white, painted 052C was the 2nd one from the second batch? Then there's the question of just how many more 052Cs there will be...

re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

as others have said.

Two 052C from 2004-5. Three launched 052C in these photos, including the one I thought already joined service. There are two more DDG in the docks. The suspicion all along was that they'd build 4 052C in this batch and then starting to build 052Ds. So, one of them could be 052D. Or we could've been wrong all along and they are building more than 4 052Cs in this batch. Or maybe neither of these two are 052D. Until they get launched, we don't know.

Wowwww, so PLAN is very confident with the design now, why so many being built at the same time .. is PLAN preparing a war or expecting a war anytime soon .. let's say within 5 years.

But it is very impressive indeed, hopefully the QC is up to the very high standard

re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

Seems like the PLAN now is happy with the individual assets. Now they want to put all those together. When all those crews on 054A & 052C are trained up and the ships have been duly tested it's about the right time to start training with / escort all the 071s being built as well as the new carrier currently undergoing testing.
Is there a plan that will see all these things come together at a point in the not so distant future? Looks like it to mee.
