Hi, could you elaborate how you come up with 24 ASML DUV for the first six months of 2022? ASML has not announced its Q2 results yet. Perhaps you meant 24 in Q1?

China has the largest ASML revenue share in Q1. But ASML shipment varies quite drastically QoQ. It’s not accurate to claim that China has biggest litho share for entire 2022 based on a single quarter result.

Could you also share highlights (no need for detail right now) of this Q42022 domestic DUV news that you are expecting?

As an important producer of integrated circuits in the world, China is naturally a market that ASML cannot ignore. ASML's financial report disclosed that in the first quarter of 2022, the company sold a total of 62 lithography systems, of which mainland China accounted for 34%, rarely surpassing South Korea and Taiwan to become the largest shipment market for ASML lithography machines.

well. sorry they sold 24 DUVs in first quarter only. LAMO

You can get my take on ASML and sanctions in my recent Seeking Alpha article here:

Thanks for your article. I see you write:

"In addition, China’s home-grown Shanghai Micro Electronics Equipment (SMEE) is developing its second-generation DUV immersion lithography system, which could produce down to 7nm chips with multiple patterning."

Could you please elaborate on SMEE's second-generation DUV immersion lithography? Could you please provide the source? Thanks.

Thanks for taking your time to read my messages.

Maybe I should have been more clear regarding the 3/4 years delay of SMEE compared to latest ASML DUV machine.

For what I know and I read in this thread, SMEE benchmark at the moment is ASML NXT1980Di machine. This has been stated in a technical comparison at national project level some months ago (sorry I don't find the sources now, but are referenced in this big thread) to verify if SMEE reached the becnhmark (BTW it didin't).

But the latest ASML DUV machine is the NXT2050i. They are 2 generations apart (there is also the NXT2000i in the middle). That's why I wrote 3/4 years.

So, I do think that SMEE is already at pre-comercialization level at this point, and for sure it will take far less than 4 years to launch their first DUV machine....but a possible NXT2050i equivalent machine by SMEE will still be a bit far in the future.

In practical terms, it means first SMEE DUV machine will be able to produce 28nm chips, but NXT2050i machine can be used to reach even 7nm. The most advanced nodes of SMIC and some others firms require the latter.

this is the problem. you don't know about SMEE current projects. what you wrote is all market/western media news. its not your fault, coz you have no source neither they have.

SMEE is a small firm. also limited funding but despite all these problems, they are very technical advance to produce DUV 28nm. you know, two Chinese high tech companies closely working with them. can't disclose their names.

SMEE already delivered 28nm capable DUV.

SMEE is all set to announce the most advance DUV made in China in Q2 or Q3 in 2023. coz they were working on this too since long back. capable to fab 7nm. this is China's speed.

i have EUV development news as well. but i don't think so, it is right time to post something about EUV.

i saw your one post, you said, SMIC will never produce 7nm. sorry man you are wrong here as well.

SMIC is all set to start trial production of 7nm in Q4 this year. but on ASML's DUV. it means SMIC got the latest DUV from ASML. by 2024 SMIC will be second largest chip maker in the world in terms of overall revenue.

welcome to the Chinese century.

If true please don't talk about it here SDF isn't exactly unknown these days you can't fault me for doubting possible HUMINT activity

i don't post any secret information. its normal news. neither disclose any name.
I would be even more careful. I don't know what country you are in but if it's not China, then you could put yourself in danger. Then, just declaring that you know privileged information but will not disclose it opens the possibility that the NSA will track your computer and try to hack it for documents. Everybody here just talk like you know nothing except what's on the news no matter who you are.
