Reading some of these comments has been an eye opener. Whenever I hear people from other Asian countries complain about China I never understood it, I honestly just thought they were jealous or mental because I never had issues with Chinese in real life. These jingoists among them are unbearable though and for China's sake they shouldn't ascend to leadership positions, if they think they can just do anything they want to they're in for a very rude awakening. The world isn't going to swap one bully for another.
I mean this is called Sino Defense Forum. Anything military related will always take a more hawkish stance.

If you don't like it, feel free to find a more peaceful oriented forum.

But keep in mind we are entering a more ugly world globally in these recent times. And I think it will only get worse for almost everyone. People are gonna strip off their "nice" facade soon as life gets tougher.

Are the Japanese trying to colonize China again?
If the underlying causes are not fundamentally dismantled then it could certainly happen again. It's only been 80 years since the end of WWII, a lot can change in another 80. The northern nomads didn't invade China every century, but some semblance of permanence of peace has only been achieve with the assimilation of the cultures during the Qing dynasty. Now it's been relative peace for some 200 years, with no end in sight.

Now with that said, two important points need to be made. First is that Japan does not historically have a habit of invading China repeatedly, neither does China have of Japan. As such, I don't believe assimilation is necessary to achieve peace between the two. It's more like China and Korea, coexistence is possible.

Second, I disagree with the other posters here that the Japanese imperial institution needs to be removed. Sure, the emperor played a role in the invasion of China, but I don't believe it's the key underlying cause. I believe that the Japanese belief of superiority, to the point that atrocities committed against China and the rest of Asia is inconsequential such as the atrocities I committed against the ants in my backyard, is a fundamental underlying cause that has not been completely dismantled. It's OK to feel superior, many countries' nationals feel that way, but how it's channeled is very important. People feel superior to bugs, and for that reason some people ignore them, while some people crush them for fun. It's the latter way to channel that feeling of superiority that needs to be avoided.

China offers the Third World an opportunity for fair dialogue, but some Third World countries simply want an equal dialogue. If anyone feels that not engaging in equal dialogue is bullying, then China can only wish them well in their pursuit of what they consider equality!

A featherweight boxer always fantasizes about competing against heavyweights, while constantly complaining that their opponent's fists are too big and unfair. This is the morbid problem of African countries: they want equality but cannot face reality, never striving for their own growth, only wanting giants to crouch down and converse with them.

Is China unwilling to engage in candid communication, or are some people deliberately blocking their ears and refusing to listen?
It's ridiculous that some developing countries still think they can choose who to cooperate with.
To put it bluntly, a beggar is being picky about his food!
Developing countries do have choice on who to work with. Only the arrogant think otherwise.

China has never forced anyone to cooperate with it. Thank you for your evaluation of China's integrity. Then I would like to know who the arrogant person you are talking about is?

Most developing countries has the good sense to be realist, they are smart enough to look after their own interest. What happens between China and Japan is not their business to worry about. This is how the world really works, some people just don't want to understand it.

The way you deal with an idiot is not to conform to their idiotic world view but to present the real world to them as it is and ignore their cries.

The truth is that Africans don't give a crap about "equality" per se, just dignity. You're allowed to do business (even if it's unfair and we know it's unfair) but as long as you treat folks with dignity, transact and leave then it's all good. Nobody wants someone else interfering in their internal affairs. The problem with these so called great powers is that they grow and get arrogant and start to believe the world revolves around them, after which they collapse and start blaming everybody but themselves. If the Qing rulers weren't so dismissive of the Brits and handled things with a bit more poise (never mind who was right or wrong) then they wouldn't have angered them and gotten their ass kicked sparking a century of humiliation. Moral of the story: no matter how powerful you think you are, the world doesn't revolve around you. If the Chinese, the Americans or whoever are so mighty they're free to stop doing business with the global south and develop on their own. North Korea is a guide. Africans are the only people that can transition to basic living fairly quickly.
