These small particularly shaped and placed add-on armor pieces have been photographed on PLA Z-10's so they are not just for the export version. These are PLA Z-10's which don't have the engine inlet and exhaust improvements the export version has. Just noting additional observations.

Can someone enlighten me what is the use of the "ticket booth sliding window" that is present by both positions in the Z-10 canopy?

best guess is its for hand offs of orders and messages felt not secure over radio, the occasional candy bar, a bottle of water, and sticking a pistol out and shooting in the event of a refuelling point being over run.

That refer to the present engine for Z10ME the larger engine is not yet installed It is planned for the future
A new engine will be installed that may increase the chopper's maximum power from 935 kilowatts to 1,200 kilowatts. The Z-10ME also has improved mobility, protection and firepower, the article said.
Does anyone knows when the new engine will be installed ?

While the discussion is still on the engines and thrust to weight ratio, I came across this data from twitter: it claims WZ 16 is in service with Z 10ME.

Highly unlikely. The official AVIC promotional sheet gives an power output of 965 kW (or was it even 935 onl?) ... and this is said to be the uprated variant of the WZ-9.
