Z-10 is seen flying over Rawalpindi escorted by Fennec Helicopter over on PDF it's being reported

Wow just wow that was fast !!

I'm curious who is flying them Pak or Chinese pilots or maybe Chinese pilots with Pakistani in the back seat

No weapons load

The Pak military enthusiasts in Rawalpindi need to step up and take some photos of Z-10 in the air! Everyone got at least a cellphone now a days, don't leave us hanging here. I want to see Z-10 flying in Pakistan. :p

As far as Chinese pilots or Pakistani pilots, I think there were probably some Pakistani pilots who already trained with the Z-10 in China before these three Z-10 arrived in Pakistan just like JF-17.

I don't know how credible is this article here, but it mentioned there will be two more Z-10 for Pakistan in October later this year.

That's why I asked..."Will the Z-10s ultimately replace all 50+ Cobras."

I did not mention the three alone.

It was not my assertion that these three alone would replace them...rather, wondering it the Pakistanis, as a result of getting these three, will ultimately decide to replace the Cobras with Z-10s in the future.

Pakistan has also received some Mi-35 Hind-E, so at this point it's probably safe to assume that they are keeping their options open and evaluating the multiple systems.

Oh yes...they have other options.

It was simply a question of whether or not they would end up choosing the PRC WZ-10 option.

Apparently the PRC is going to gift them another two aircraft to...errr...help them along in the decision process.

Let's get some facts correct

China gifted these 3 x Z-10 to Pakistan, for these units Pakistan did not pay anything they were a gift

2 units are for combat mission and 1 unit for test and evaluation

Both China and Pakistan technicians and ground crew are on the ground supporting the 3 helos

They are a trial period like the Y-8 AWACS serial T0518 was before a PAF specified ZDK-03 was inducted

Once we have the PAA specifications in from these helos which might take up to a year we won't know the final order or the specifications of the PAA Z-10

One thing that is for certain is that PAA is committed to Z-10 they picked the helo after much evaultion no U - turn on this is going to happen nor can pakistan afford such a move after a lengthy discussion with China

Now it's just a matter of time before PAA get the data they need and work with China to put in a final order

Giving away helicopters could be sign of desperation on CAIC's part, though. But again, whatever brings home the bacon in the end...

For some reason I doubt this was CAIC's initiative.

More likely it was government led and more to do with maintaining the positive relationship with Pakistan than being desperate to find export customers for Z-10.

You really think it's CAIC rather than Chinese government who gave these helicopters away?

BTW, CAIC has already had a contract with PLA of at least hundreds of WZ-10. Why is he desperate? It's totally nonsense!

Whoops, you are right, I was referring to whichever governing body has control over these transactions.

The government still has vested interest in securing export orders, and if those three WZ-10 give Pakistan enough precedent to order more units, then I do not doubt that the Chinese would be willing to sacrifice some helicopters for a greater return.
