That's been out for around a month. So far I haven't seen anyone prove that it was fake.

I think a Chopper with fewer blades is generally more agile. Though the influence of the rotorhead and the existence/absence of hinges is more important here. Modern hingeless choppers are very agile since steering impulses are transfered to the blades really fast. But that puts a heavy strain on the materials.
However, a chopper with more blades rides smoother. It also provides more lift since there are more blades -> a greater "wing area". But they are thinner than the blades of rotors with lesser blades. Therefore more blades mean also fewer turns/min wich leads to a slower speed through the air.
I think that decreases noise. Especially the assymetrical five bladed rotors perform even better here the symmetrical four bladed ones.

Thanks. I know nothing about choper tech. Just I think this is the first attack chopper that has 5 blades? So I'm curious why.

The Mi-24 Hind already uses a five-bladed main rotor for decades. The Mi-28 Havoc also has a five-bladed main rotor. These are rather heavy helicopters, their western counterparts are lighter. As I said, more blades give greater lift. So that may be an important reason here. But weight shouldn't be an issue with the WZ-10. And then there are several heavy transport helos that have more than four blades. Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-26 (eight blades). The CH-53s.
The Comanche was also planed to get a five-bladed rotor. It was also for noise reduction to a certain degree, though the enclosed tail-rotor had the greater impact here.
So maybe the engeniers put some emphasis on its ability to sneak in closer ...

I'm assuming that because there are more blades, (And therefore, more lift, as you already stated twice.), that means the rotor can spin slower, and generate less noise. Does that sound about right?

If you mean less mechanical noise because of the anguler speed, that may also be right, but I'm not sure to what extant that is important.
But I would think that this fact may also reduce fatigue.

DOD Report Praises WZ10

I don't know if everyone had a chance to peruse this year's DOD report on China's military:

There's usually something interesting buried in the rhetoric. This year's report sited the WZ10 as "offering combat performance equal to the Eurocopter Tiger, but below that of the AH-64 Apache." (page 4)

Not a bad compliment, considering the source.
