What would be the Chinese Defence Strategy against Alien Attack?

If aliens love human feces or simply any sorts of wastes we produce(minus plastics), then everyone will be happy. We'll be more than happy to give them all these things, and maybe our landfills too.

Oddly...

they could do "The Invasion" scenario Slowly replace us with them well building up until one day the last human has a horrible thought.... He's not human at all...

Here's a different question: if an alien attack (whatever the form) happened within the next 20 years, how long would it take for the nations of the world to act together?

Nations would have a choice: join a united front for negotiations with the aliens or try to leverage the alien presence for greater power/chance of survival

If Aliens do invade earth, chances are they will do it for our natural resources (and they may well count humans as a natural resource just like how we view cattle). Apparently earth has way (around 1,000 times) more gold than it should. Scientists are suggesting meteorites delivered the gold, and if so, I dare say not every planet would be so fortunate.

If gold is valuable to us, imagine how much more valuable it will be to a race that has 1,000 times less of it than we do.

As for how long it will take for nations to band together, well I think that will depend entirely on how aggressive the Aliens are. If they just attacked a single country and came up with some half plausible reason for it, chances are a lot of the other nations will dither and not get involved until it became obvious that the Alien's aim goes beyond that single country and that we are all equally at risk.

If an Alien power is advanced enough to get to us, you would assume that they are clever enough to come up with such basic PR tricks. Assuming of course, they feel it is worth the effort to try and fool us and pick us off one at a time.

Maybe aliens don't visit Earth because of the most obvious fact... human nature is paranoid. They will be no uniting of Earth against aliens because there would be paranoia of collaboration with aliens by others. Just look at scenarios depicted in movies. Why do aliens only make contact with Americans? If you're not an ally of the US, what would you think? Now just imagine if the US or a Western country weren't the first contacted. The movie District 9, even though a great entertaining movie, wrongly depicted the reality. Left to the South Africans alone to deal with an advanced alien culture? Not in your life. How many countries would want access to the aliens and their ship? Just imagine the global tension it would stir. Now if I were an alien and wanted to eliminate humankind, all I'd do is visit a secondary power and then sit back and watch the nukes fly. Since something like that hasn't happened and if alien intelligence exists, aliens probably know better.

While what you say is true, Aliens might not be familiar with Earth's political situation. Unless they've learned our language and spent time reading our news, they are not likely to know which nations are opposed to which other nations.

If they're technologically advanced, and they just "warped" into the neighborhood, and they're hungry for resources, they might not bother with learning about us.

So assuming the Aliens show up guns blazing, how long would it take for the Earth's nations to band together and organize a unified defense?

That's why it would cause international tension. No matter who they visit, it would cause paranoia. In movies the US always gets attacked. Now you can say that's because the US is most powerful and thus most threatening to aliens. But from a human perspective and if you were an American, how would you see that your country is taking the brunt of an attack. Look at this annivesary of 9-11. Of course you read journalists writing about as if somehow China exploited it simply by having a growing economy while the US suffered. How is that related to 9-11? They managed to do it and like what would happen in an alien attack, many of the anti-China usual suspects were angry at China simply because they believed China should be more of a target for terrorism than the US. Because as they said China represses religion including Islam while the US doesn't. Look at the anger at China simply because its economy is still looking robust while there is great uncertainty for Western economies. If China were to collapse, which they seem to wish, wouldn't that make the world economy worse. They don't seem to care.

If aliens had the power to eliminate and defeat humans quickly and easily, then it would be pointless to discuss what anyone would do if aliens attack. But if they are not as omnipotent and need to win through attrition like everyone else... Then you better believe it opens the door for human paranoia to get in the way of defeating an alien invasion.

If they can bombard us from orbit we're screwed. No amount of unity can make up for that level of technological inferiority. Blow up population centers, military bases and infrastructure from orbit, send down resource harvesting ships guarded by gunships in case any meager human resistance which may remain.

Goodbye, earth.

Attack orbital ships with nuclear equipped ASATs. Try mass launch using both ground, naval, and air based missiles.

Easily brushed aside by their alien ciws or easily dodged by changing orbit -- if earth can even muster up any rockets and warheads to retaliate with, after their military installations and infrastructure are crippled, not to mention the aliens would probably destroy our satellites etc.

And after the initial bombardment they will prolly have earth under a "no fly zone" with atmospheric and space borne assets deployed to kill any remaining threats before harvesting our nice-earthy-stuffs

Really depends how advanced the aliens and their vessels are I suppose. I'm thinkin along the lines of two dozen star destroyer like vessels in orbit.

Problem sir?
