Very strange, how could this happen? It is not a secret that Singaporean troops train in Taiwan, but transporting weapons via Hong Kong's port is unnecessary.

From the article, it sounds like the vehicles were being sent back to Singapore from Taiwan. So somebody in Taiwan, whether Taiwanese or Singaporean, must have messed up!

Sure someone messed up. It is a commercial transport company. My surprise is that Singapore charted a civilian company doing the transportation without their military personal to check the route of their weapon and no guard to follow on the ship? If any of the two things are done, they would have been able to stop the ship entering Hong Kong's port. In common sense, Hong Kong or not, the weapon could have ended up anywhere in hands whoever knows.
