The Hypersonic Air Launched Offensive (HALO) missile in development for the U.S. Navy’s high priority Offensive Anti-Surface Warfare Increment 2 (OASuW Inc 2) program has been cancelled, according to a statement given to Naval News by Rear Adm. Stephen Tedford, Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons.
Basically the USN is relying on subsonic missiles like air launched LRASM for ASuW.

The planned July delivery of the US Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, the John F. Kennedy, is likely to be missed because of long-unresolved “critical challenges” with elevators used to move munitions from below deck and aircraft launch and recovery systems, according to new congressional testimony.
Weren't all those issues solved during Ford's long trial period?. Or the changes in the design just messed everything up again?

This seems like the biggest no-brainer in the world to me, and it is crazy that this authority wasn’t sought ~two decades ago. Two of their biggest allies have been among the world’s largest shipbuilding nations for decades. They could have easily utilized that expertise and capacity for surface ship construction.
