Basically the USN is relying on subsonic missiles like air launched LRASM for ASuW.
From what I know about this program, it seemed like there were technical problems with propulsion that would've required too much additional funding to crack. So USN probably thought it doesn't give them enough of an edge versus the LRASM increments which are already much more versatile (can be used on 4th, 5th gen fighters, surface ships and some drones).
USAF still has another airbreathing project the HACM under development.

DoD doesnt get 150 fighters per year. It gets a dozen f18e (not for long anymore) , a dozen f15ex (should increase next year) and it would've got like 90 newly produced f35 I'd there wasn't for the whole tech refresh delivery debacle. So 110 to 120 per year.
That's very interesting info. Is there a source somewhere compiling the yearly US procurement numbers for previous years? And perhaps including export numbers as well?

For China, my understanding was that the yealy rate could be as much as 100 J-20 per year, plus J-16/15 (how many?), plus perhaps some J-10s? The J-35 would be in production from this year right? So we would be looking at 150 minimum per year, possibly more, maybe getting close to 200 if perhaps including things like H-6K family?

There isn't one source compiling the info, AFAIK. You gotta search for various reports and announcements from producers and us users and compile the figures for yourself. Total numbers produced for all customers are easier though, you just look at annual reports from LM and Boeing.

1 50 for China sounds about right. H6 production is winding down though. Plus it was probably not more than a dozen in the last few years.

I will post a Japanese article about the US military's dependence on Chinese products.

The text shows that certain electronic products that the man with a plan (Trump) has removed from the reciprocal tariff, there are a large number of Chinese products related to the production of weapons for the US military.
