As soon as it came out that this loyal wingman would cost $300 million each, it seemed ridiculous for them to buy it.

It's kind of strange to me that us still hasn't developed something like gj11 after this many years. X47b flew over 10 years ago! Maybe there is a classified program we don't know about.
Weird, I'm sure it was just a month or two ago they confirmed they were going to go ahead with the wingman concept.

I'm sure this has to do with budget more than anything else. If the idea was to have a similar sized platform to increase payload, why not just tag along another B-21 in autonomous mode.

Well. Just noticed, but apparently, LMs' own opinion on F-35 stealth isn't exactly high

I don't think that's an appropriate conclusion from this.

Even a mig-21 can be stealthy enough if the situational awareness and environment allows and/or can also be exploited.

A proper stealth fighter like f-35 is always damn deadly and needs to be treated with respect even for first tier militaries.

Under ideal conditions and environments, maybe a traditional fighter is spotted and engaged/effectively countered. There are plenty of instances where radars available on the ground or in the air simply cannot even spot something small like a gripen, especially if EW is thrown into the eqn.

It could be terrain, jamming, direction of approach even, you can't always cover all angles and airspaces all the time. If it's no certainty in spotting fourth gens every time, a fifth gen stealth is always advantageous.

Perhaps the visual is accounting for future AD or some margin of safety and risk that places f-35 far outside of anticipated threats. It could simply be a promotional effort to illustrate the improved vlo of ngad.

After all it seems pretty much accepted that 6th gens are going to up the stealthiness by some order of magnitude. Both US and China.

It's only a promo indeed.
Just found it funny that NGAD and NGUAS are operating well ahead of the proposed team, deep within the enemy grid, but single-seat F-35s are sitting just slightly ahead of C-130J guiding drone teams.

No one forced LM to be this self-critical, yet they did design a promo the way they did.

Several [M1A2] Abrams have arrived in Poland today in support of the American lead Abrams apprenticeship program which was established to train Polish tankers on the operation and maintenance of the Abrams platform in wake of their decision to purchase [116] prior service Abrams from the United States.
