Going with pure DEW might be risky.
and a 150kw in the front. Seems they expect lasers to play a major role in shipboard deference.No railgun.
2 x 600 kW Lasers!

It's second stage in the first place.
Some observations. (yep, i understand that it's illustrative)
-Those radar arrays are huge. Even baseline ones are huge;
-Lots of signature control, apparently (radar, acoustic).General trendline, but notable;
-64 UVLs(?). Cell counters gonna be furious. After Constellation class - that's gonna be a hit below the waterline;
-Widely distributed radar arrays, german style. Apart from other concerns (space, cooling) - first hint at higher focus on survivability;
-2 RAM(!). German style #2, that's quite a step-up in self-defense. Later on - up to 3 lasers, that's quite a bet;
-Unit architecture apparently(2 fully self-contained units, able to fight independently). German style #3. This is really intended to continue fighting after being hit.
-UxV carrier. Well, it's a general line of evolution at this point, nothing unexpected, but nice to see nonetheless.
I like it.
Also, while there will be a lot of "055" noises - frankly speaking, it looks way more 052D-NG to me.
I’m so confused guys… shouldn’t this be in the 055 thread??
Btw I must correct myself - there are likely 4x32, I didn't look properly the first time.Use of DEW does reduce the need for more vertical cells. That's a good space saving measure and proves its value.

“USS Nanchang”
Oh come on. Everyone's doing it over on Twitter. Nice to give some back once in a while...I was about to commend you guys for taking the high road and not calling it a "copy of Type-055"...

So it's almost a straight-up upgrade over the Tico.
Initially, the ship would feature a 32-cell Mk-41 Vertical Launch System forward of the superstructure that could be swapped for 12 larger missile cells capable of fielding the Pentagon’s emerging hypersonic weapons being developed for the Navy, Army and the Air Force.
The current DDG-51s field 96 MK-41 VLS cells and USNI News understands that Navy requirements keep the VLS cells for DDG(X) about the same.
Hahaha, the very same people on the internet who for years have tirelessly insisted that china copied everything from the west for stuffs that have even the slightest similarity between them are suddenly playing dumb and calling this future destroyer doesn't have any similarities with 055.. Instead, they hilariously bring up other western examples that look even more dissimilar, like the italian FREMM or japan's asahinot calling it a "copy of Type-055"...
