(This is an open question, not just directed at @siegecrossbow)

How would the stealth performance of a delta wing plane without canards compare to one with canards?

Iirc, the discussion around the J-20's canards was still in the context of comparing it to a plane with an empennage. But in this case, we're talking about an entirely additional set of flight control surfaces.

Do we have vertical control surfaces? Ideally you would want fewer control surfaces, vertical or horizontal, but aircraft design boils down to tradeoffs. If it is just about minimizing RCS above all else a stick is the best shape.

They are very clearly trying to hide the full wing and rear aspect of the aircraft. They also appear to want to hide the canards in the second shot. I think it might point to something unique about the control surfaces which they do not want revealed yet. I suspect we will find out within a couple of years what the truth is.
Or they're hiding it because the front was ripped directly from J-20 and the tail is unique in that it has vertical stabilizers, and they have enough self awareness to know what that means for PR.

Countries that actually keep things secret don't have press events, they simply says nothing until flying over a city of 20M one day.

J-20 might be the best shape for 5th gen, but if America think J-20 clone is also the best shape for 6th, that just means they're still on 5th gen...

With how full Jai America they’ve been going under Trump 2.0 I really don’t think they are sophisticated enough for 5D chess moves.
I don't want to discuss the reaction of other forum, but Americans (including Canadians) in other forum seem to be too excited.
Even if we do not see the true image of the f-47, this does not prevent americans from claiming that it is the most powerful.
It seems that Trump will lead the United States from victory to another victory.

I would be surprised if F-47 actually had canards, but it would certainly be very funny if it does, which is why I hope it does.

Also, in terms of names for F-47, considering how China-centric (some might say deranged) the US is, I wouldn't be surprised if they name it something that the US military thinks as "badass but relevant" -- something like "dragonslayer" etc

I will put down my prediction here. The plane seems to have a pretty significantly dihedral main wing, my guess is that it has anhedral (downward pointing) wingtip, just like bird of prey.

Reason: Canards means this thing still value maneuverability, tailless design just can't provide enough yaw authority what so ever, anhedral wingtip provides yaw stability just like a vertical surface does. Otherwise I don't see any reason for such a large dihedral angle for the main wing.

That is assuming the pictures they're showing is legit. Not a bad design if they're looking for a better F-22, but I seriously doubt any of their claims about range given the size of it
