(paraphrasing from the live press release) Trump just called the new jet the F-47 lmao! (also called it the first and only 6th gen haha), claimed that its been flying for 5 years.
Edit, i think Hesgeth is drunkenly confusing air-craft generation with human generations. Amazing stuff.

The manned component of the NGAD is given the designation F-47. Isn't Trump also currently the 47th president of the US?

He can claim whatever he wants. Reality on the ground (or in the skies) will remain as it is.

As for 5 years - Someone wanna share that exhibition board?

Now I'm just waiting for the NGAD and F/A-XX programs to merge!

Might as well if the F/A-XX is getting cancelled or going to Boeing anyhow . . .

May I humbly propose the F/A-47 Trump Card should the F/A-XX program stay independent of the NGAD program or otherwise remain intact under the new Trump administration?

If they really wanted to keep it close to the chest then they’d keep everything under wraps like they did for F-117. People only find out about it after it has struck targets in Panama.

With how full Jai America they’ve been going under Trump 2.0 I really don’t think they are sophisticated enough for 5D chess moves.
Feeding your enemy false intel is not a 5D chess move. Point is, I don't think we should take that single picture at face value. Also, they both look like shit, like they were done by some new intern.

Higher quality image of the second rendering. Definitely some inconsistencies to say the least lol. Dont know what to make of the renderings

This looks like canards to me.

Obviously, these renders are not definitive proof, but some degree of consistency among them would increase the likelihood that the feature exists on the actual plane. Of course, only time will tell, and we're all just speculating nonetheless.

The image looks asymmetrical to me. On the left it looks like a strake then the canard in the back. On the right it looks like a continous LERX going into a wing. Im just going to ignore this one for now.

You guys probably shouldn't try to make too much out of an "Artist Rendering." Artists are not engineers and are known to take liberties with their creativity.

Sooner rather than later, Trump is going to make Boeing present the F-47 to the public to showcase all the "great work, tremendous progress, yuge things happening" under him.

We'll all get a good luck then, if not sooner!

They are very clearly trying to hide the full wing and rear aspect of the aircraft. They also appear to want to hide the canards in the second shot. I think it might point to something unique about the control surfaces which they do not want revealed yet. I suspect we will find out within a couple of years what the truth is.

I think people are putting too much emphasis on stealth. I think nowadays with all the advanced ISR planes, tracking systems and mass constellation of satellites. It is hard to hide anything when it is up at the sky, included balloons when it exerts no heat..

Any moving plane have heat signature, generates alot of noise, and air disturbance.

If you look carefully, the lerx leading edge goes much further out that the strake going into the wing. So to me definitely look like canards first, then strake going into the wings.
