He wasn't told. At most, Putin probably hinted something but Xi probably didn't believe that a leader of a big power like Russia would do such a thing.

I bet that Xi knew something would happen (no war though) and he just told him that whatever he wanted to do, do it after the Olympics end.

I don't believe for a minute that Putin told Xi:
"Bro I am getting Ukraine"

Maybe China is evacuating because before Russia told them that they will do a quick win without affecting civilians much but now it have changed to making Kyiv the 21 century Dresden.

They really are quite sure that Ukraine can't do anything because it sound like highway of death replay if Ukraine get their hand on some firepower.

Do you know how quickly Sumy front is moving toward Kiev? Here's something to show:

An abandoned T-80U found on Lebedin-Trostyanets highway. That means elements of 4th Guards Tank Division have been split off to reinforce the north. Sumy front is advancing to Kiev so quickly that their left flank is dangerously exposed, hence why other troops are rushing in to cover their flank. (at the cost of number of troops dedicated to closing the main pocket)

If I were Xi I donate 10,000 HJ-12 missiles to Russia as payback for the US and Canada boycotting Olympics.

The champions of humanity are supplying weapons and providing all kind of support to the enemy of Russia and threatening to take it further! So will Russia help Anti occupation groups in Syria, Iraq and Africa to liberate their countries ?
