Since I think this is all a dry run for what will happen when the Anglos declare war on China.

Sergey Karjakin the Russian GM made a post on twitter saying he supports Putin, the Russian army and the campaign to denazify and demilitarise Ukraine.

He's an ethnic Russian from Crimea, and he points out that he knows more about the situation than most. He's now getting heavily abused by trolls on twitter, but he's doubling down and retweeting memes from the Chinese embassy in Moscow...

They're now talking about giving him all kinds of punishments and suspensions.

This is all over a case of one country invading another. Something that happens all over the world every year and at least once or two a US presidency. No evidence of a holocaust or systematic war crimes, there's not even been much fighting yet. When was the last time any American sportsman had a similar punishment for supporting Trump or American wars?

This conflict reminded me how lucky China is to have its own Internet Ecosystem . Today West is beating Russia in information warfare and are successfully provoking Russians to come on the streets to protest against Putin. Russia had to threaten and ultimately block fb, twitter so as to stop this propaganda onslaught.

China will be immune to this and can perfectly focus on Military ops without worrying about Domestic security concerns owing to Western Propaganda.
I remember back in the day the world wide web was an actual robust ecosystem... where there wasnt just a few powerful players at the top... there were dozens of search engines (my fav were directhit, disneys Go search, altalavista, etc) and email was still evenly federated (spread out between the likes of yahoo, hotmail, aol, and dozens others)

Nowadays Gmail is synonmous with email, Youtube = video, and Chrome has 90% of browser userbase marketshare.

Imagine if Google had played the long con and was never kicked out of China and was now the number email, search, browser, video, maps and marketplace/appstore (Google Mobile Services) service in all of China...

China would be easily color revolutioned if the likes of Google, Facebook and Amazon/AWS had been allowed to get a foothold...

As for the GFW, its the best thing since the other Great Wall... at least the GFW actually protected the Chinese population in the 21st information age.

Not quite immune, lots of FLG and 1450 are constantly spreading their lies on the Chinese internet.

I hope they can get this conflict resolved soon and it doesn't escalate into Syria like situation in which you have years of brutal urban warfare. I don't think Ukraine can hold out for long, but they seem to really want to defend their country.

Hopefully the sanctions are strong enough to weaken Putin's resolve for war so that his forces can be pulled back into Russia before it gets out of control.
