I could see how that would be counterintuitive if Russia itself was a big maker of drones but it doesn’t make very many. The war would being going much better if they had drones to use against Ukrainians since their air defense is very sparse. The effect could’ve been like Azerbaijans use of drones.
Yes, I agree that they should drop their pride and buy what they need for the war.

Seems like all the information updates can be classified into two categories:

1. Ukrainians inflicting various losses upon the Russians.
2. Russians advancing on every front.

I think it's pretty clear what the aim is. Russians are trying to win the war on the ground, Ukrainians are trying to win the war in the minds of Westerners.

A month?

Dude, this war is basically already over.

What's happening right now is just mopping up the remains.

There's a reason why the US offered to extract Ukraine's president.

They can see what's coming.
I realize that, but the cost of war & sanctions is going to take a heavy toll on the Russian economy. The quality of life of the average Russian is going to go down.

Because nearly every OSINT account you find is sympathetic to Ukraine.
They're more likely to post pure Ukrainian propaganda without being critical.

The circlejerk energy you find on Twitter and Reddit is real.

Yes, they have progress quite fast, especially in the Southern front. Even in Kiev, people forget that it is a city of 3 million and it is day 4. It took a day or two to just get there. It will take a few more days to finish the job, and that is quite amazing. Part of the reason was Kiev did not prepare until well after the invasion.

Exactly. China is learning valuable lessons from the Russian frustrations in Ukraine. It is good that China is learning them now through Russia, and not directly. Indeed, Russia should've learned this from the US experience in Vietnam and the reversal of that in Desert Storm.

Those lessons are:

1. control the media and if not, make sure the media reports little to nothing at all. In Vietnam, it was very demoralizing to see US troops on tape being captured by Viet Cong or North Vietnamese soldiers and it made them ashamed to see war crimes committed by their troops. In Desert Storm they learned to silence opposition media and amplify their own.

2. don't hold back at the start. negotiations are for before the war or after the war, not during.

3. hitting infrastructure is key.

These critical Russian mistakes might have cost them alot more than the direct value of their military losses.
@FairAndUnbiased bro regarding the 3rd, I think Russia did the right thing, If They able to take control of Ukraine, they needed those vital infrastructure functioning, less expense and less hostility among the locals. Like I posted before in Taiwan scenario why destroy something you own, The American strategy are good at destruction BUT they're suck at reconstruction and look what happen to them at Iraq. Instead of being welcome they were hated for destroying a country and making their live miserable. a quote from J.R.R TolkienAll that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
