The U.S was thousands of miles from Vietnam, the Russians are next door.
US. goal was to United to south with the North, the goal of the Russians is to separate the East from the West.
Once the Russians annex the East of Ukraine will be almost impossible to take the region back with out a major war.
@tokenanalyst bro it's an unanimous analysis among most SDF members, except for a few newcomers and an expert...lol

I have a question. Why has Russia not made extensive use of drones for reconnaissance?
They don't have enough of them. Due to their shaky industrial base, they are behind in drone development and procurement. They also do not want to buy from China. I think it is because they have a defense export business and therefore a reputation to keep. If they start buying everything from drones to destroyers from China, it might cause even more drop in arms sale.

Day 4 and Russian heavy armor was unable to take Kiev last night

seems like Russia has chewed up more than it can swallow

and now irregular fighting will favour Ukraine

PS- I have studied WW2 extensively and here I feel like I am living through it again only live

I could see how that would be counterintuitive if Russia itself was a big maker of drones but it doesn’t make very many. The war would being going much better if they had drones to use against Ukrainians since their air defense is very sparse. The effect could’ve been like Azerbaijans use of drones.

I think the Russian position might be better than people giving them credits for. They have successfully pinned the Ukrainian army and limited their mobility. Russia is making some rapid advances with an overall force about 1/3 the size of Ukraine standing army is impressive and also interesting. Really shows the importance of air superiority. Russian might overestimated the support they would receive from the Russian speaking population.

Ukrainian government shoot themselves in the head, when they did not issue general mobilization order during the period Russian force was surrounding Ukraine. Now Ukraine need time (which it does not have) to organise reservists into basic units to effectively fight. Apart from sieges of Ukraine cities, we only been hearing reports of sparotic ambush of Russian convoy. Now, even with some many reservists on paper, Ukraine are drafting people who have never fired a weapon before is a bit disheartening.
@optionsss bro from what I heard Azov battalion are caught on a cauldron and most of their elite units are pinned down afraid to move due to Russian Air superiority. So basically a mopped up operation with major campaign targeting Lviv the Bandera heartland.
