I am sure the Russians did not see that coming like them getting kicked out of SWIFT prior to invading Ukraine, it's like they don't plan anything:rolleyes:

Big difference between than and a hot war. And everybody would know it. Just another weapon in the arsenal.
And a war would not change it either. The American economy is built on debt, backed by the dollar, which sits on the confidence that it will pay their obligations. The US could cancel the small amount that Russia holds. Yet they don’t.
Any move to “cancel” debt held by China — i.e. default on it — would destroy the full faith and credit of the U.S., send U.S. interest rates soaring and could ignite a global financial catastrophe.

Oh well, nothing of value is lost, it the EU wants to collapse economically and have much of its population freeze to death, that is going to all be on the US, UK and those friend US supporting EU nations collective head, they can be my guess. Again what is the point of controlling the EU if they their resources starved and ultimately full of woke idiots. The USA could’ve Allie’d with China and the world would be at their finger tips but their hatred for China and Asians is too deep for that one to happen and as thus the USA can suffer the consequences instead. When NYC finally breaks down, will they reflection on their actions, or blame God for the rapture not saving them at the right time

I won't rule out American elites are not crazy enough to do it. We are in a different era. No more Henry Kissinger or Richard Nixon. We have Biden and Trump. Although, there are many American and Western assets in both China and Hong Kong that China can go after if the US decided to impose the nuclear option.

You're right for now, but what if Russia's economy sink to Iran level with an increasingly dissatisfied population? It is not unimaginable some sort of color revolution might occur. I can imagine there is a long queue of traitors waiting to be the next Western backed puppets, Putin is able to control it for now but for how long?

You can't compare Russia to China, CPC has strong internal institution and cohesion and largely patriotic population, Russia has ......Putin
Iran has $10k USD GDP per capita despite total sanctions. Russia can manage that just fine, as it has previously.

You also forget that Putin isn't just the individual Putin, he represents Russia's internal security state. Remember his background.

US was never energy independent.... and conventionally peaked back in 1970
Entire fracking, shale etc thing was a scam and so was ethanol which had a negative EROEI
