Hope Xi is taking notes on this mistake
Xi is far far smarter than Putin. The usual western delusional people think that Xi is an idiot or a low IQ person.

Joke on them though, no General Party Secretary is an idiot, and doubly so when passing Anti-Corruption, SCS, Trade War, HK, Xinjiang, Covid successfully.

He may seem slow but the moment he calculates that he has the upper hand he will utterly demolish you. His political acumen and strategic vision are simply incredible

Xi is the type who plays the idiot until the stars align, every single one.
Those that believe that Putin is much smart then Xi had better be careful because this man went through all the hell that the USA has tossed at China from trades wars, Xinjiang, Tibet, the health pandemic and HK and heck, those accidents in the South China Sea and the best they can do it throw out the Winny The Pooh meme. I believe that Xi is quietly learning and putting the pieces together and like he did in HK he will mess them up so damn bad. Note that the west will soon have little access to Russian gas and oil and if they play their cards way wrong, the entire Chinese manufacturing base as well if they push too hard. Imagine the destruction this will cause if they cannot see the stars aligning and also imagine just how short of a time the US dollar have as the world reserve if they lose all of the factors that help to back it. The west has the power of the media and sheer hatred soon, this will fail them at the worst possible time. What’s the point of controlling Europe if Europe is as weak as this

Haven't you heard? You can simply dismiss Ukrainian civilian lives because Ukraine is a "US puppet" that deserves what it gets from Russia. It take some large mental gymnastics to place the blame entirely on US imperialism and their 'US puppets' while Russia also shares the burden of the blame as well. Realistically, this is a highly complex situation, it's disingenuous to label things so cleanly in black-and-white. Both sides have fault, so it's sad to see Ukrainian civilian lives being so trivially dismissed when the entire situation is preventable by both sides.
Yeah, the Russian fanboys have taken over the thread, not realizing that the only reason most Chinese commentators, here, are supporting Russia’s actions are ultimately, exploitative. Well, if they’re that stupid, then Russia deserves to be used as NATO bait!

GO, GO RUSSYA!!,

If the Russians believed in such brotherly love then don't start full scale invasion in the first place. Defend "brothers" in Donbass but don't take the friggin capital, or attempt to.
Hard not to when said "brother" gangs up with outside bullies against you cos you took his "toys" so now to him "family" means shit, all these years growing up together as siblings means shit.

A good strategy does not involve full scale invasion of Ukraine.

From a theoretical Sun Tzu perspective, yes. However, Sun Tzu also focused on direct warfare, and not just on the indirect method. Russia had been trying the indirect method for 20 years, but it wasn't working well.

Given the provocation of NATO vis a vis Ukraine, I get why Russia did this. People like Chomsky had been warning about NATO/US's provocation since 2008. And he just said that the US narrative on Ukraine has gone beyond the realm of the rational.
