Taiwan is not recognized as a sovereign country, not even by the U.S. The situation isn’t comparable.

And who would have thought Zelenskyy would allow things to deteriorate to war when Ukrainians elected him to find a path to peace.

Most Taiwanese were celebrated when the US troops and transports were spot in Taiwan. So your thinking that Taiwan would not be crazy enough to welcome the US military or missiles are false.

Taiwanese are too brainwashed like the Hong Kongers to differentiate the reality and imagination world. Hong Kongers were daydreaming that the US would come to their rescue and force China to back down during the riot. Hong Kongers were thinking by crippling the airport would bring China economy to the bottom because Hong Kong is so important.

Hong Kongers are even more integrated with China and have lot more families and friends in China but just look at the craziness of what happened in HK. And you still claim that people are rational.

EU will never side with China, it would be good enough if they don't side with US against China. Case in point, If they have independent foreign policy then they won't have jumped on the Uighur genocide bandwagon with flimsy evidence... yet they did it against their own interest.

Hence the phrase what-if. NATO hasn't moved into Ukraine, but here we are. We're talking about possibilities. The mere possibility of what-if coming true is unacceptable in that line of thinking. The Domino Theory is an example of the west trapped in that kind of logic. Things transpired in Ukraine since 2014 led the present crisis. Should Taiwan Independence pick up any steam, you can bet this what-if the US move into Taiwan thinking will pick up momentum.

And how many such taiwanese do you know? How does kmt still get elected if taiwanese public are all brain washed like you say?

Have you ever been to hk and Taipei? If you have them how can you possibly make the argument hk is more like mainland than Taiwan?
