You can ask the same question: So what if the US expands into Taiwan? I do agree China and US are the winners of this conflict. US benefits are short term though while for China it could be long-lasting, assuming China can weather through the looming Taiwan crisis.Realistically no one is going to invade Russia.
It still has either the greatest or second greatest nuclear stockpile in the world. So what if NATO expands into Ukraine?
I think that Putin kept the conflict minimal (minor border skirmishes) like many analysts have predicted then he could’ve achieved far better geopolitical outcome. Going all in like this is very detrimental to Russian interests.
Going forward Europe may no longer exist as an independent pole, and neither would Russia. Only long term beneficiaries are on the opposite sides of the Pacific.
No one is going to invade China. There is no country on Earth with the logistical capability to sustain a continental scale land war in China. As long as China is not the aggressor, then there is no moral basis for an invasion."Realistically no one is going to invade Russia"

"I never understood why anybody would think NATO wanted Russia"
I never understood why anybody would think USA wanted China, If USA installs missiles in Taiwan I will watch it calmly and distantly from my Olympian view
According to this site Battlefield radar operate at around 10GHz.Its the lack of EW that's puzzling. Just some hours before, there were people livestreaming from open fields and touring different places (on occupied Russian places)...
Northeast and East have been strongly fortified for years. Zelenskyy basically ignored any warnings and didn't make any preparation or mobilization until the war started. Kyiv is just sitting duck without any preparation and solely rely upon guerrillas warfare to fend off Russian attacks.Significant progress in the north and the south, but little progress in the north-east and east:
Realistically no one is going to invade Russia.

NATO is a military alliance. What is the purpose of NATO? There is only one enemy for NATO and that is Russia. Maybe NATO does not currently have the strength to invade, but this puts military and economic pressure on Russia, just as Ukraine killing its own citizens that are ethnic Russians will also need to be responded to by the Russian government. So what if NATO expands into Ukraine?

@enroger Bro I digress in fact China is the clear winner by supporting Russia, they complement each other and by 2025 IF China had achieved tech independence in Semiconductors and Aircraft Engine, they may not need EU and Russia had lot of tech talents to offer.Honestly this is not a good thing for China, US get EU back in their camp. China gets a shitty Russia... I think China would much rather see a more independent Europe from trade perspective.
Damn this thread is one arduous climb, I'm literally huffing
