Point being, neither is an actual conventional threat to the other, so all the drama is unnecessary!
Ukrainian forces are using civilians to avoid getting shelled by Russian troops thats a handicap for their forces, like you cant just go drop FOABs or use TOS that much.

think only t-72s were used and not t-90s meaning their best equipment wasn't used,

not the entirety of their armed forces were used, the battles results will be interesting from losses of military members, equipment and operation costs. I do know Russia is not economically wealthy enough to invade Poland which got GaN patriot systems, latest Abrams and setting a deal for F-35s.

The Dnipro river cuts Ukraine in half. Blow up every bridge on it and the connection between west Ukraine and east Ukraine is severed by Dnipro river.

Ukraine to arm civilian as Russian troop close-in Kyiv. I recall a Chinese phrase "草木皆兵"

...nowadays everyone has a phone and things quickly find their way onto the internet.....

That's not true in a conventional conflict. That only happens in COIN ops in cities, where people live.

All the biggest strikes in this war (so far) happened far away from cell phone cameras. You could only see some of the massive MLRS barrages and airstrikes in the distance in a few videos. Those strikes would've evaporated entire Ukranian formations on the ground, and no cell phone captured those. We haven't even seen the after effects of those yet.

This is why there is so much propaganda on social media, because people are expecting to see footage of Ukranian losses. But civilian cell phones weren't anywhere near the most intense combat. Just the fact that Russian forces are inside Kiev right now means they have cut through masses of Ukranian forces to get here. 99% of that has not been captured on video.

A general knows when one of his units has just been evaporated on the front lines. That news may not reach the public until well after the war is already over.

On the other hand, I'm beginning to doubt Russia lost planeloads of people.

Maybe it's just me but I expect footage to be uploaded within minutes of it happening.
A giant fireball that close to Kyiv should be seen by millions of people with phones.

Time will tell.

Czechs are now in favor of removing Russia from SWIFT. No word yet from Hungary or Cyprus from what I can tell.

*DEVELOPING* Major internet outages across Ukraine; this comes as heavy fighting occurs around Kiev.
Fully expected this to happen. I just wondered why it took this long. There was alot of noise coming from the Ukrainian side. Especially their politicians.

Shutting down enemy communications infrastructure is invasion tactics 101. Russia as the aggressor party should have tried to shut Ukrainian internet ASAP so that they could control the narrative. Dunno if it's Russian incompetence, or possibly a deliberate delay to let the Ukrainian leaders use the Internet for awhile.
