Are you suggesting that they are carrying weapons? So far a Russian cargo ship, a tanker and a chemical carrier have been hit, and the war isn't even 48 hour old. There is practically no way western weapons bound for Ukraine could already find themselves onboard a cargo ship. Even if true, the Russian fleet could bring up and search ships, rather than just shoot. The story is just unlikely. Don't you think it is more likely Ukraine is firing off shore based missiles hoping to hit Russian warships?

Spot on. I think the West went into an overdrive and didn't think carefully the sanctions.
They have escalated the economic war to such an extend that Russia could actually become a bigger version of N.Korea and possibly become a rogue state in order to destabilise the West.

Even if they do withdraw, I don't think they'll lift sanctions any time soon.
