Or the US really respects the nuclear warheads that Russians have.
Russia is not going to go nuclear to invade another country.

Obviously Taiwan ir more important to the US hegemony than ukraine, which is not a nato member, or the baltic republics, which are.

The reason is simple. Russia has no financial muscle to speak of and no ability to form any sort it economy block that would be of much value to developed economies, If russia takes back all the soviet republics the improvement to russia’s strategic position would be perceived as a pure threaten the core of EU with no economic and other opportunities to offset the perception of threat. EU has no choice but to run to the US for protection. US reputation might be temporarily damaged, but US hegemony over the rest of europe would be strengthened.

If china takes Taiwan, china becomes the hegemon in the west pacific. with possible exception of australia and japan, other countries are likely see which way the wind is blowing and desert the US and become integrated with china in a trading block. US hegemony in west pacific will collapse.

you do know what total war mean right? for them its winning or death. imagine your country getting invaded and they invader want to actively take down a government that was democratically elected. if you are in that position it doesn't matter if u support the president or not. part of your freedom is being taken away. if u understand this then all this make sense
We don't need to imagine. Yanukovych's government was democratically elected but deposed by a bloody coup d'état. His government also represented a very large portion of Ukrainian population. These Ukrainians' freedom was taken away.

If you did not ignore this then you should know that you are suggesting a total war between half of Ukrainian against another half.

Like the recent computer ban against Russia and the talk about SWIFT action, this too is an ominous foreboding harbinger of the dark times to come for ethnic Chinese Americans living in 5EYES. Once this precedent is set, it will be a template that will be copy/pasted and applied to Asians in the US as well whenever Uncle Sam gets done with Russia and turns its sites back to China containment.

If any NATO country gets involved in this current conflict, Putin will launch the nukes. He's literally said it himself.

Most soviet republics were a burden to the Soviet economy. Ukraine wasn't but it will be a burden if it was absorbed today.

China will become the most powerful superpower with or without Taiwan. China won't suddenly spike in power just because they've taken back control of an island. CPC and the Chinese want Taiwan for ideological and moral reasons, not because it will suddenly make China more powerful.

No. China wants Taiwan because of its geostrategic position, it breaks the island chain containment strategy pursued by the US and gives Chinese nuclear submarines direct access to deep water. It is a matter of national security.
