I beg to differ. There is a million excuses to start a war, but to the individual the only thing that matter is my countrymen is getting killed and my country is being destroyed. An invasion is an invasion, regardless of how just the invader's excuses are. Why should ordinary Ukrainians die for the interest of Russia? Regardless of how bad their politicians stuffed up, it is still their duty to defend their homeland, even against their own brothers.
I am not sure what exactly you are disagreeing with me. I think Ukraine should stop fighting because my judgment of Russian intention is that it's not to rule Ukraine. I think Russia would accept a neutral Ukraine as a buffer. That's why I think it's in Ukraine's national interest to stop fighting. a very small lost of sovereignty for lower casualty and damage is worth it. But if their judgment is Russia intends to colonize Ukraine and will butcher a lot of civilians, like Imperial Japan did to China, certainly they should fight.

It's only the first day and a half. Dismantling Iraq took weeks of softening up.
The Ukrainians didn't collapse like the Afghans and they have a lot of hardware and weapons to chew through.
It's no joke.

We'll have to see what happens if they surround all the cities and defeat the Ukrainians in the field.
Afghan are tribal people. First sign of trouble they run for the hill and coordinate guerrilla warfare from the hills.

I think overall their strategy is sound, and their gains speak for itself. But Russia is still fighting a 20th century war in 21st century.
Same. Strategy is ok, but the implementation of it is seriously lacking.

And its not like this is the Russian Armed Forces fault. The fault is at the top, at Putin who only order 30k-60k troops to invade. What a joke! what can these extremely low number of troops going to do in invading such a big country as Ukraine?

Can you imagine using <100k to invade? Lol. He basically set them up to fail.

Russia is fighting with one hand tied. It is clearly trying to avoid large scale aerial bombardment with unguided munitions despite their lack of PGMs. I don't think Russian public or even the military itself have much stomach for massive Ukrainian casualties.

I remember Chinese FM spokesperson said something to the effect that Russia had declared their military targets to be military installations and China was monitoring the situation. Chinese positive neutrality is not unconditional.

I rarely see Chinese internet this divided on a geopolitical issue. Chinese government is obviously trying to shape public opinion by airing grievances against American imperialism, but major civilian casualties could turn Chinese public opinion sharply against Russia, especially if Chinese nationals were harmed.
