I also think it would be wise for Ukraine to stop resisting. But the reason is also why you should not compare it to Imperial Japan's invasion of China (Please stop calling it sino-jap war, which is a white washing name).
Japan invaded China to rule/colonize other countries. Russia invaded Ukraine to stop the expansion of a military alliance whose sole purpose is to contain Russia.
The US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq were openly prepared for weeks. Russian military likely wasn't sure what will happen and may or may not have prepared for a full invasion.

The problem is assuming the US and the West are honest at heart. That they actually care about democracy and freedom for others. The fact is all the people in the world the West is suspicious of are of the ones they couldn't conquer during their rape of the world. Those people remember unlike the countries they did conquer because the conquerors made them erased that part. Why is it so important again that everyone embrace Western values? It's no coincidence all the countries that think they're the good guys today raped and occupied China. The "reverse Nixon" is about white supremacy. They thought it would be easier dealing with Russia simply because they're both white meaning they all hold common white interests at heart. I was watching Richard Hass the other day on cable news. He's saying China is a lot easier to deal with than Russia and the West should be working towards that end. Funny how both Haas and Zakaria jumped on the anti-China bandwagon before. So don't mistake them as being honest unbiased intellectuals. They got it wrong first. They blow with the wind. The Republicans are still holding out for white supremacy so don't expect any change anytime soon.

I beg to differ. There is a million excuses to start a war, but to the individual the only thing that matter is my countrymen is getting killed and my country is being destroyed. An invasion is an invasion, regardless of how just the invader's excuses are. Why should ordinary Ukrainians die for the interest of Russia? Regardless of how bad their politicians stuffed up, it is still their duty to defend their homeland, even against their own brothers.
It's only the first day and a half. Dismantling Iraq took weeks of softening up.
The Ukrainians didn't collapse like the Afghans and they have a lot of hardware and weapons to chew through.
It's no joke.
We'll have to see what happens if they surround all the cities and defeat the Ukrainians in the field.
In a way, I feel for you. I was certainly happy to see the Russian vehicles drive around him instead of over him. But you know, I just read a bunch of posts and articles spreading falsehoods about China. The most blatant, gross, disgusting lies which have their roots in none other than the fundamental racism and white supremacy that underline NATO and the United States. So. Today, like all days since this new China USA cold war began, those aligned with China can do no wrong, and those opposed to China can do no right.
