Especially since slavery is expressly forbidden for prisoners of war according to the Geneva Convention, at least as far as I know.
Its not slavery if you charge them $1 for a phone call of 1 minute and then pay them $0.2 per hour for work...

Russia can also charge them internet by MB KB used. Let's say, $1 per 10KB. Or $1 for a better meal in lunch-time. Or $50 dollars for warmer clothes in Siberia, or even a Prison Bank lending them at a 20% monthly loan rate. The possibilities are endless.

Nobody is going to force anyone to work, its all "voluntary". Do you disagree on freedom of choice?

So you want to use one wrong in the US as a justification for another? What a perverted attitude!
When foreign media and Govs starts condemning the treatment of Russian POW by Ukrainians I might agree with you. Until then, "optional" work it is.

Anyway, from what I can see our views are far too different for one party to convince the other. I won't comment further on the topic, we both made our stance clear and its up to the rest of the people here to judge who is right or wrong.

It's kinda hard to believe tho unless the equipment are airborne or spaceborne. There is no way ground based equipment can do that due to Line of sight constraint. and GPS are in L-band so it can't really use Sky or surface wave mechanism for the jamming signal to propagate.

It might be some natural interference or satellite position. as depicted here in this livemap. Currently some area in Africa have GPS coverage position problem. This map can be viewed here. It updated every hour

GPS signal is very weak, it is often below background noise. It's a miracle of signal processing that it's possible to receive it at all. It doesn't take much to jam it.

It is.. it's just that Earth is not flat. Ground based jammer have line of sight limitation.

Most things using GPS that you would be interested in jamming would be in the air, like UAVs and PGMs.

Plus there's no reason why you can't put a jamming pod on an aircraft?

All you need is something that transmits around 1500MHz. I've done it accidentally on my FPV RC planes. My shitty video transmitter jamming my own GPS.

Are you crazy?? The whole Ukraine has to be rebuild after this war!

Or is the same valid in return? What would you say if "just to teach the Russians a lesson to those that killed Ukrainian POWs" and "Why not use those that had led to it being damaged?"
But Russians did not kill Ukrainian POWs(or at least not openly on camera), this is why Russia have thousands of them already. And there is a massive number of Ukrainian POWs in Russian control right now(there is thousands of them already), with just around 600 of Russian POWs huge chunk of whom were already exchanged. If you side do not take POWs and do not have them enough for exchange due to killing them, why anyone would release you POWs without conditions?

Just copy US prison system for them and do make them work to restore what they had destroyed.

Yeah and we were talking jammer equipment based on Murmansk can jam Norwegian GPS some 900 km away. I'm sorry if it ground based it's just not gonna happen. Even aerial gonna need to fly very high.

but anything like this against human rights, against the Carta of the UN and the Geneva Convention is onyl proof for my first stance to close this thread!
There are literal videos of executions of Russian POWs. Those that were not killed get mutilated before POWs swaps. And all this with full western support and probably with western orders. Do you really dare to bring Geneva Convention in such situation? I would be against release of Ukrainian POWs until war criminals of Ukraine would get what they deserve.
