I think the separatists will incorporate lands outside Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts into their borders. For example they may incorporate Kharkov into their land.
Probably that the Donesk and Lugansk will extend all the way to the Dnieper... they need a geographic barrier in the long term and control of irrigation. Russias said that they will focus on the Donbass presently, it doesn't means that they will not continue after that objective is met.

A lot of people are claiming the Ukrainians are losing troops at a 6:1 ratio versus the Russians.
And this is the largest army in Europe next to Russian one. The Russians are outnumbered total versus Ukrainians and only achieve numerical superiority in certain locations where they conduct assaults like in Mariupol. Same thing happened in WW2. This is where the German's claims of Soviet "human waves" and being outnumbered comes from. The truth is back in WW2 the Axis outnumbered the Soviets.

The Ukrainians have no air power at all and as they lose supply they will lose all mobility and initiative.
Who are these "a lot of people"? If that ratio were true the Russians would be at Dnipro and Odessa already, and the pocket of Ukrainian forces in the East would be close to sealed.

I saw that, not only is it a very sick thing to do (vindicating the Russian position that Ukrainians are nazis), it's also incredibly dumb. There's been a few videos of Chechens who are seen checking captured soldiers' phones for any videos they've posted bragging about killing Chechens or Russians. There is also apparently a video of what happened to the Ukrainian who posted the video with the pig lard.

Is he that confident he's not going to end up in the same position? When the Ukrainian army collapses like the Afghan army did, there won't be any American helicopters saving him.
Dipping bullets in lard was beyond stupid when the Chechens were literally coming to get you.

The Russians cleared Izium, are mopping up Mariupol after destroying all organized opposition there, and have surrounded Chernigov.
The Russians are also clearing up the roads up north.

Scott Ritter, Andrei Martyanov. Also some US general I can't remember the name. The Russian Army also made an official announcement on losses recently which claims an even more disproportionate ratio.

At first yes, the Germans virtually outnumber the Soviets during the outset of the Operation Barbarossa even then the ratio was only like 1.5 : 2, but from 1942-1945, the Soviets virtually outnumber the Germans especially in the year of 1944 and 1945.

Sources for their claims?

While 6:1 ratio is very optimistic (I think it's more like 2:1 at this stage). The Ukrainians have basically unlimited manpower at this point. They can afford to lose men at that level because of full conscription & foreign mercenaries. What will really cost them is losing equipment and supplies. It's easier to send jeeps full of soldiers to the front line than a tanker of fuel.

If Putin brought out the big boys and started carpet bombing Ukrainian lines, then you'd definitely be seeing those sorts of numbers.
