They'll just probably use propaganda to hide it like "Ukrainian soldiers successfully retreated from Mariupol, wasting Russian supply and troops. Counterattack being planned!". Seriously, the propaganda campaign is really strong, I have a friend that just asked me if Russian is losing a while ago.
Not that my opinion on India has changed much but still in the one situation, it’s good not having India joining up with the west to screw with China and Russia but then again, given that Russia did treat India better then the west, heck even China treated India better then the USA for crying out loud. I guess even India has red lines they don’t cross, unlike the USA that has no such lines. Now if only the west gives all three nations a cause/opening to finally declare a real counteroffensive, it will be a sight to behold, a lord of the rings scenario where the eastern kingdoms completely slam Gondor to pieces while fighting for a truly righteous cause and no eagles coming to save them this time round. How ironic, imagine such a scenario playing out in real life without a safe space in sight to hide in
Raytheon Technologies Corp stock price jumped 10% at the start of the war. The price in the months prior basically follows the probability of the Russians invading.
Raytheon are going to be busy making missiles for quite some time to replenish stocks. However if the USA starts sanctioning China, China might just respond with a ban on exporting rare Earth Metals which would throw a spanner into the production line at Raytheon
Many pundits say Russia has held back forces to defend against any potential NATO attack, how many stingers and Javelins etc does NATO have ?
They need to support Russia they have no choice. Russia is their primary arms supplier and has stood by them in the past.
Russia in exchange has refused to sell Pakistan weapons, Air Defense etc The day India goes against Russia , nothing will stop the latter from strengthening Pakistan militarily. India cares about self preservation like any sane country would do.
The only reason West hasnt smacked Indians is because they need them for their Anti China crusade . India recognises this Western compulsion and hence it continues to defy them knowing very well the US has no other choice but to let it happen. Its called playing smart.
India i would say isn't anyone's lapdog , they're an over ambitious country that will do whatever it deems fit for their own benefit. Today they're in Anti West camp when it comes to Russia and tomorrow they'll be in Pro West camp when it comes to China.
Their ideology is that of a weasel, they know how to play.
I just realized this would be an opportunity for Russia to train their troops in Urban warfare. Being in close proximity to the battlefield, allows Russia to easily retreat or rescue their units. If this war continues on for a long time, Russia will become the most trained army for Urban warfare in the world.
Edit: This is an opportunity for China to learn as well, and Russia could teach them a thing or two about urban warfare and strategies that will come out of this experience.
