War crime right there.
Nope. Azov are not recognised by Russia as a legitimate fighting army, this was made clear to them before the attack happened. They will be getting the same treatment as other political battalions and foreign mercenaries. No different to the SS during WW2.

I'm pretty sure some will be taken prisoner. The offer to escape through a corridor is probably gone though.

Well then it seems like he is truly alive. Then I readily admit that I have accepted Russia's propaganda too easily. Unlike those who refuse to believe the debunking of Ukrainian propaganda.

Nevertheless, he is expecting an easy fight with the Russians. He is now living in Kiev with flowing water and electricity. Should he thank the Russians for that? They have not turned Kiev into Kharkov or Mariupol yet, but its coming if Ukraine and the West continues this war. The Russians are not Taliban or ISIS, they have sophisticated ISR and well trained snipers too. They will be nothing like he has ever faced.
Has he seen action in Ukraine? Him or the Ukraine side seems to be awfully quiet about his kill count. Given all the outlandish claims coming from the Ukraine propaganda machine, you would expect them bragging about how many Russians he has killed so far.

Is it a worse war crime than General Omar Bradley ordering the US 1st army to take no German SS prisoners in 1945?

without giving them any opportunity to surrender first?
Is that whataboutery? I see you don't deny it is a war crime.

Meanwhile, some senior Russian officials are keen to avoid a trip to the Hague, it seems:

He's probably just playing video games in his apartment while everyone else does the fighting.

no, it is pointing out total self absorption and self righteousness unmitigated by the slightest hint of irony or self awareness on the part of russia’s accusers.

Really? Because it looks a whole lot like whataboutery from Incel-y Putin fanbois and war crime apologists. Dredging up stuff from 1945 FFS! FAOD, it was a war crime then, and this is a war crime now.
right, those who got to where they are today by committing long chain of epic atrocities, who thinks it is only natural for them to keep everything they have gained through those atrocities while also grasping for more, and committing more atrocities in the process, now find it perfectly natural to decry and talk down onto, and with a perfectly straight face no less, the alleged atrocities committed in the process of other who are trying prevent their own ill gotten gains from being taken.
