Ukrainians have made clear that they're happy to die for their McDemocracy. Russia will be happy to oblige.
Most likely already has. But theoretically, Russia can now officially send troops into those Republics if those Republics ask them.
Allegedly destroyed Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle; destroyed by Russian Forces this morning; according to military chiefs in the region. Five Ukrainians dead.

I think the only scenario Russia will do so is if Ukraine invades them.
I don't think recognition of them changes too much in that regard. Russia would have done that whether they recognised them or not.
This is more an explicit message to Ukraine/USA to stay away from the breakaway republics.
I think the might take a more gradual route, tho’, only sending Russian troops if Ukraine “invades”.
I should have read further before posting.
According to Russian Forces the engagement took place near the southern military district, the weather in the region has been relatively warm; warm enough for snow to melt when rain is taken into account.
