NATO have shipped Ukraine ATGMs and MANPADs literally in the thousands. All we've seen so far of the captured ones have been anywhere between a handful to a couple dozen here and there.

Even if the Russians have captured hundreds of them, it would still be only about 1/10th of what Ukraine currently possesses.

That said, we also don't know how many have already been destroyed in warehouses and depots by Russian artillery and air strikes.

Russia has war economy. Capture a few, reverse engineer, mass produce. Iran reverse engineered and mass produced TOW.

good portion of former soviet military industrial complex is outside of russia’s direct control. it would be interesting to attempt to reconstruct just how much of the established supply chain for each type of military hardware is either accessible to russia now or for which a russian substitute has been established.

I suspect Russian capacity to domesticate the manufacture of many types of weapon s is not nearly as strong as memories of the capabilities of the former soviet military industrial complex might suggest at first glance.

They've been doing it for quite a while. e.g R-77 productions are in Russia now. R-73 missile seeker which was previously in Ukraine is now also In Russia. They seem to do very well in this respect. Some parts however are apparently in Belarus like Krasnopol and Luch.
