How are so many of these ending up in Russian hands? On the other side videos I see of Ukrainian soldiers taking on tanks seem to be with Ukrainian ATGMs/RPGs. Russians either have compromised Ukrainian supply lines, or Ukrainians are just handing them over.

Too bad Ukraine doesn't seem to have many tanks left or these could have been put to use.
Yeah so this is what always frustrated me about the Russian strategy. The priority should have been the destruction of the Ukrainian army in the Donbas. Achieving that objective in a reasonable timeframe would require vastly more troops than the Russians devoted to the eastern front. If they did go after Kiev as a gigantic diversion to throw off the Ukrainians, then it doesn't look like they succeeded. And the stiff Ukrainian resistance on the eastern front is proof of that. Had they actually thrown 100,000 troops in a major push across a broad front in the east, they would already have the Donbas by now.
Right, great armchair general talk.

In both FT articles, when did they said “before”? I thought it was after the invasion. Also, when did Russia ever consider buying Chinese military equipment? The Russians despise buying and using foreign equipment.

According to another SDF user, an "US-backed expert" said US media twisted the truth, that military equipment sales was ongoing and likely predates the invasion, not an urgent response to invasion.

Great read, very thoughtful and rationale:

Imagine destroying your own country in order to realise this..
"#BREAKING Zelensky says Ukraine must recognise it will not join NATO"

This would not be the first time a small country thought it had a window in which to free itself from more bothersome domination of a nearby bully by appealing to a more distant bully, only to find the window snapping shut before that action can make any difference.

NATO have shipped Ukraine ATGMs and MANPADs literally in the thousands. All we've seen so far of the captured ones have been anywhere between a handful to a couple dozen here and there.

Even if the Russians have captured hundreds of them, it would still be only about 1/10th of what Ukraine currently possesses.

That said, we also don't know how many have already been destroyed in warehouses and depots by Russian artillery and air strikes.
