Until the west gives up on attempting to either maintain, or re-assert, it’s colonial imperatives, what actual strategic independence could there be?

But, that reminds me, I haven’t stocked up on cake!

The answer to that is to end the idea of 'The West' and make it Europe and the others. It would require building up their military and not just using soft power.
