This conflict is the weirdest one I've experienced in my entire life. Since day one we've been seeing Russians completely pummel entire bases, blocks of cities and whole units of Ukrainian soldiers being wiped out. Everything I'm seeing from Ukrainian sources looks like a total breakdown of military command and control, and anarchy on the streets.
The Ukrainians on the other hand post memes of farmers towing broken tanks, a few deserting Russian soldiers, and one or two helicopters shot down. Unsubstantiated Ukrainian rumours about Russians generals being killed, Putin firing generals get amplified as fact. People are straight up making up lies, like the idea that Russia is reducing demands in peace negotiations when the Ukrainians have gone on record saying the Russians have increased their demands. All of this becomes a self propagating echo chamber, and now 99% of the western world is convinced that Ukraine is somehow winning this war.
There's literally no coverage of anything coming from the Russian side. There's no sanity check from any western politician or major media outlet. They all seem to be adding fuel to the fire.
This is WW2 level propaganda and censorship, except the home propaganda is being supercharged by the internet age.
