Good threads/comments from a former American combat veteran volunteer that ran away because he thought he was going to have fun like he did in Iraq with air supremacy fighting goat herders.

I read the pinned FAQ thread for volunteers..... Brilliant.

One of the suggestions: "Do cardio, get in shape"

Also this one: "Learn to shoot."

3 days of basic training, then pushed to the frontlines, but I'm sure they'll do fine, with the many hours of Call of Duty, Battlefield and Apex Legends under their belt, they've all the skills they need.

Just over a week ago I met a group of young men who had volunteered at a centre in Kyiv to fight for Ukraine.
Most of them were in their late teens, not long out of school. They told me that after three days' basic training they would head for the front line - or very close to it.....

Yoga mats and airsoft knee pads... check.

They're better equipped than the Taliban, so no excuses i guess.

Video released of Ukrainian mortar team. In the footage you can see the Ukrainian bullpup on a couple soldiers. I heard about these being made but never saw any footage of them in use.

Small infantry teams equipped with mortars is the way to go for Ukrainian resistance.

Given that they are provided with targeting data by NATO they can cause a headache to Russian units. Its too easy for such small teams to hide and make quick hit and run attacks

This looks like a staged propaganda shoot, or so I hope for the sake of the Ukrainians!

Everyone LARPing with high speed guicci tactical gear (and way too much of it) that looks like it’s never seen the outside of a warehouse before, and making entry level nonsense mistakes like storing their magazines the wrong way around in their chest rigs!

If these guys are not just LARPing around staging a propaganda shoot, then the Ukrainian military really are in deep crap if that’s the caliber of troops they have as elites.

Based on some quick Google searches, the bullpups (also known as Malyuk) are in service among Ukranian special operations forces. So those guys must be a Ukranian spec ops team harrassing the Russians.

For the rifle itself, it is basically an AK74 that was converted into a bullpup and received some Tavor-style features. It looks really awkward to use though. The magazine position is weird, so the reload movement must feel awkward.
