It is due to the more modern integrated electric propulsion.

Remember the Sabre from ? It a few days ago. When I first read about that engine many years ago, it was supposed to be a hypersonic engine that would power both space planes and hypersonic missiles. Now I am not sure if there are any non-MIC companies doing the same type of development.
