UK's type 26 frigate, not in service yet
Twice the displacement of the Russian Project 22350 and yet it has less VLS cells with worse missiles.
The main advantage is it has two helicopter hangars. So it could be better for ASW work.
Still, I suppose it is a vast improvement over what they used to have.

I don't think the number of VLS is a huge impediment here, but there armament is actually crap. Sea Ceptor is pretty good, but what about everything else? No good ASu armament, or other interceptors optimized for different ranges/altittudes. Tomahawk is pretty decent as a ground attack munition though.

But yeah, big capability gaps. Very good platform once the other stuff is developed though.

It's a frigate, not a destroyer. Under Anglo doctrine, frigates are for anti-submarine and surface tasks, which is no doubt why it can carry 2 ASW helicopters. Multi-layered air defence is a task for the destroyers.
