Looks too burley, somethinng about the color is wrong, and if you look at the hull touching the water it's almost a perfect cut, the trees almost makes the picture look PSed, and also that Chinese flag...

Actually, the difference is that the supposed 094's conning tower is flat, while the Xia's is slightly sloped.
That being said, I'd have a hard time believeing this picture. Imagine, the PLAN goes to such extend to hide its existence, than leave it for show in some public dock?
Also, note that both diving fins are showed, despite the fact that the sub is almost parallel to the camera. Good ps from the 093 picture I'd say.

In my opinion that´s simply a PS´ed Xia/092.
Interestingly there were rumours around that a second boat of type 092 was nearly completed in the 80´s but that as one story goes the boat had a severe nuclear accident and was abandoned, whereas others maintain that Deng Xiaoping ordered a stop of the project in 1985 because of problems with JL-1 and cost overruns. Well it´s a wild speculation I know, but could it be possible that PLAN has completed a second 092 type boat in the last years from a conserved hull they still had at hand ? Perhaps they completed the ship in a enclosed shipyard where satellites could not spot the ongoing works ?

It's not the hull I care about, it's what's in those tubes..
We shouldn't have our hopes up yet, the 094 is said to be based on the 092 except longer. I wouldn't be surprised if the PLAN reveals the 094 and it looks almost identical to the 092....

Wasn't the new, Chinese, sub-launched ICBM tested several months ago? It seems to me that at the time there were some analysts who thought the origin point of the launch was from a place offshore, near the coast. If so, then that would indicate that the Type 094 is alkready launched and being tested for operational status.Sea Dog said:
