Type 076 LHD/LHA discussion

An American cat:
The Charles de Gaulle is only equipped with two C-13-3 steam catapults. This catapult is a derivative of the C-13 catapult equipped on the US super aircraft carrier. It can eject a fighter aircraft every 30 seconds, but to accommodate the specifications of the Charles de Gaulle, Reduced catapult length to 75 meters.
From the foreseeable future, there will only be American cats and Chinese cats in the world, and no country has any plans for redevelopment.
Not sure what your post is all about. My response was the US being the only country with catapults in the west. Obviously that's not true.

His response is correct, because the post you responded to mentioned catapult tech, and currently only the US has the tech in the west.

When you mention the French, they bought US cat and got trained on how to operate it; but that doesn't mean they have the tech, only the knowledge on how to use it.

What a difference a little over a year makes. From a few joined keel modules to her launch, the speed is impressive.

They 'bought' the tech because at that time the US has been using it for decades. Catapults though complicated is not some proprietary alien rocket science.
I'm sure the French and most 1st world countries with good industrial base have the 'tech' to easily do it if they really want to.
Anyway back to topic. This has nothing to do with 076.

Scary fast if you are in the US Navy and waiting 8-10 years for each new carrier.
Thats a little misleading. While assembly pace on Type 076 is undoubtedly impressive, the time between laying down and launch for American LHDs (which remain the primary point of comparison) is three years. Could American yards build them faster? Probably. But there's a little more to keeping a yard in the shipbuilding business, as is regularly discussed.

For carriers times remain a little different, and Fujian illustrates that aspect. Maybe the next CV/CVN will be built faster, but I dont expect dramatic changes. It would be interesting to see how fast eg JN could built a Fujian repeat, but I'm not sure they're going to go down that way.

There are 1st world countries with a good industrial base, and there are NATO countries, the two circles do not overlap.
