Damn, UK made such a big deal out of their STOBAR carrier and many nationalists even claim it's the second best carrier in the world after US ones.

And here China is just casually building a comparable one like it's nothing, with a two island setup even.

Closer daytime look at the twin island superstructures. Posted by @这丫头有点风 on Weibo.

Amazing speed, some modules only appeared in February 2023, and now they are basically complete. The construction and delivery time of 076 may be less than 30 months. In contrast, CV-17 takes 70 months.Oh, I hope to build 076 at the scale of 071 and equip it with GJ-11, J-35 and KJ-600.

It's quite a trend, French were going for two islands on their PANG as well (initial design), but it was redesigned to single island in 2022.

The initial design was for two islands. It was changed in 2022.

The PANG as far as I know was always a single island design.

The PA2, which preceded the PANG by quite a few years, was a dual island design and was related to the queen Elizabeth class. However the PA2 program/concept was cancelled in the early 2010s.

But PA2 and PANG are two different programs and concepts.

It's more correct to say "France considered going for a two island approach in their previous new carrier program PA2, which was based off Queen Elizabeth class".

So let's say the ship is launched early next year. Almost 2 years for fitting out + sea trials before being commissioned, and then another 2+ years before it's combat ready. It seems like the ship won't be ready for a conflict until near 2030
